When Good Cooks Go Bad - Penelope’s ‘Moving In’ Pecan Pie

Monday, November 5th, 2007

But first, more on . . .

Penelope’s 1st Annual Pumpkin Pie Playoffs!

Until November 22, Penelope will be featuring pumpkin pie recipes as her Pie Pick of the Week. Post one of your own or vote for your favorite here at Tell Penelope . . . Whatever. The weekend after Thanksgiving Penelope will tally the votes and announce the winner. Bake and be counted!

Meanwhile…

Paul Keegan, from Springfield, Illinois Tells Penelope…”What’s wrong with giving a woman a cookbook? I read the section last week about the ‘Moving In’ Pecan Pie, as if Fannie Farmer was a bad thing. It’s not the same as buying your girlfriend an iron or a washing machine, although my mother campaigned for hers for like two years. Baking is supposed to be fun. I wish a woman would give me a cookbook so I could bake a little something for her.”Anyone who knows Paul, Christmas is coming.

  2. i love the story about pie ranch! this web site is great!! i just want to make pies this season for me and for others to have. i think everyone could use a pie right now. this year has been a hard one for most, well the past few years have been hard for a lot of people. infact i think i like to make a pie just to throw in someones’ face, but that would be a waste of a good pie!!!!!! so, i think for this holiday season i am going to make pies and give them to others to have so that they can take a break from their diets, life, and have a little moment to get through these times or even the day… so i say bake everyone, bake! bake a pie!!!!!!! love, liz
