Let The Sunshine (Kids) In!

For anyone who wants to light up a life, becoming involved with The Sunshine Kids Foundation is a surefire way of doing it. The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children with cancer. Established in 1982, it is committed to providing quality group activities and emotional support to Kids who are receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across North America.
Every year local chapters of The Sunshine Kids take groups of Kids on trips to New York City, Orlando, Steamboat, Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Hawaii, and many other cities for a week of fun where they can forget about the pain and isolation of their cancer treatments.
The Sunshine Kids also creates local activities like trips to ball games and amusement parks; and hosts holiday parties and other fun events in local hospitals. The recently opened Los Angeles office has taken Kids to The Magic Castle, The Aquarium of the Pacific, Dodgers games, and had star-studded events in all the local hospitals. Then there was the annual California Fun-Time Fantasy, which included excursions to Disneyland, Universal Studios, the Griffith Park Observatory, the play “Wicked,” visits with Jay Leno, the cast of “The Closer,” and many other adventures.
The real magic of a Sunshine Kids event is that these very special Kids get to spend time with other young people who are going through many of the same experiences. It helps the Kids realize they are not alone in the enormous challenges they are facing, and helps them make powerful connections that can help bring into their dark days some much needed Sunshine!
